Communications Manager

Reporting to the Chief Engagement Officer, the Communications Manager will assist in th development and overall successful implementation of the Ocean Supercluster's communications strategy.

Type: Permanent, Full Time Location: Atlantic Canada

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan
  • Engaging and collaborating with the communications committee
  • Track and measure the level of online engagement within the OSC network 
  • Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual report, e-newsletters, and the OSC website 
  • Collect and collate information for promotional literature
  • Enforce brand and social media guidelines
  • Manage social media marketing, including creating, managing, and growing the company's presence through LinkedIn, Twitter, and other strategically relevant online properties
  • Manage media contacts 

Required Competencies

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma program with a focus on public relations or marketing
  • At least two years of experience in a similar role
  • Personable, presentable, articulate, and able to work effectively with a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to research, collect, and analyze information
  • Proficient technical skills (i.e. MS Office, Adobe, WordPress)
