Indigenous Engagement Lead

The Indigenous Engagement Lead will work cross functionally with the Ocean Supercluster (OSC) team to raise awareness of the OSC through relationship building with Indigenous communities and OSC members. You'll use your project management experience to identify project and engagement stories from our members and stakeholders, support Indigenous organizations involved in OSC project investments, and manage Indigenous Engagement Working Group activities. You will oversee the success of the OSC's Indigenous Engagement Strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings with project working groups (dates, locations, agendas, materials),
  • Oversee/coordinate project development and execution (action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets),
  • Indigenous partners relationship management,
  • Identify speaking opportunities and develop relevant presentation details,
  • Outreach for engagement in Innovation Ecosystem activities,
  • Be point of contact and communicate project status to participants and OSC members.

Required Competencies

  • At least one year of experience in a similar role
  • Personable, presentable, articulate and able to work effectively with a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
  • Ability to research, collect and analyze information
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma program completion
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Two (2) years of experience in management of culturally-based projects.
