Technology Leadership Program Manager

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and working closely with other OSC staff, the Technology Leadership Program Manager will be responsible for developing and leading processes to build internal networks to identify innovation-focused project opportunities, identify and formalize partnership opportunities and lead and execute projects with multiple OSC partners and stakeholders. Central to this role is working collaboratively with Supercluster Members and key stakeholders to identify and develop technology programs and projects, supporting OSC Members in the development of project proposals, and providing oversight to OSC project activities in execution.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish program objectives, strategy, and milestones
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships with OSC members and key stakeholders
  • Oversee OSC Project Managers and OSC project delivery to ensure successful outcomes including performance of contract tasks, on-time deliverables, within budget and in accordance with technical requirements.
  • Guide proponents in developing project proposals, including full development of key milestones, strategy, and intellectual property/commercialization strategy
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and report updates to senior leadership teams, project partners, and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops and meetings with working groups
  • Support the development and refinement of the OSC Technology Roadmap, 5-year strategic plan, and annual plans

Required Competencies

  • 10-15 years of combined relevant experience in R&D/technology and program management
  • Experience working with research-oriented, project/portfolio management processes
  • Degree in a science, engineering, or similar discipline (Masters-level degree considered an asset)
  • Certified PMP considered an asset
  • An understanding of how to initiate, plan, manage, and close collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience dealing with private sector, government, research laboratories, and educational institutions
  • Experience in and understanding of ocean technologies and ocean operations
  • The candidate will have proven leadership and interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal communications skills. The ability to effectively make critical decisions, communicate with leaders and decision makers, demonstrate leadership and teamwork is required.
