{"id":4845,"date":"2022-02-04T21:28:49","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T21:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oceansupercluster.ca\/?p=4845"},"modified":"2022-02-04T21:28:49","modified_gmt":"2022-02-04T21:28:49","slug":"arowind-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oceansupercluster.ca\/fr\/arowind-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada\u2019s Ocean Supercluster announces $6.7M AROWIND Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"g-container\"><em>One of five Ocean Supercluster projects announced today<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-4944 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/oceansupercluster.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Arowind-Project-Voyis-Final-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today, Canada\u2019s Ocean Supercluster announced five new projects with a total value of nearly $29 million, including the <em>Autonomous Remote Offshore Wind Inspection, Navigation and Deployment (<\/em>AROWIND<em>) Project.<\/em> This Ontario-led project will develop an uncrewed surface vessel (USV) based subsea inspection solution for offshore windfarms.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>AROWIND<\/em> Project will provide a prevailing ocean sector concept that is autonomous and remotely operates subsea surveys. This ocean solution presents an opportunity for Canadian companies to commercialize a remote and autonomous inspection solution for offshore wind inspection that reduces vessel costs and number of personnel on-board.<\/p>\n<p>With a total project value of nearly $6.7 million, the Ocean Supercluster will provide close to $3 million with the balance coming from project partners. For the project, Voyis will work with Canadian companies Deep Trekker and HydroSurv Unmanned Survey Inc., and international partners EIVA, and Sonardyne.<\/p>\n<p>This project will define a new standard for offshore windfarm inspection methodology using remote and resident deployment solutions. By consolidating this solution in Canada, diverse local supply chains will grow in tandem with the offshore wind market over the next decade, solidifying Canadian manufacturing jobs in a changing economic environment.
