So much of our ocean and the opportunity that lies within it is unknown. Canada ranks amongst ocean leaders globally in many areas, with positive gains in recent years, but there is more to do. On the path to digitalizing our ocean, delivering climate solutions to the world, building more companies, creating more jobs, and realizing the untapped economic potential of the ocean economy for Canada, research, benchmarking, and rankings are important in guiding and measuring this work. Canada’s Ocean Supercluster regularly engages in research activity with partners in Canada and internationally to provide insights into what is happening across the sector.
