Growing Canada’s Ocean Economy 5X by 2035
According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), by 2030, the global ocean economy will outpace the growth of the broader economy by 20 per cent. For Canada, this is an opportunity to accelerate more made-in-Canada ocean products and services, advance technologies to bolster maritime security, increase productivity and competitiveness, and scale companies and workforce development, leading to transformational growth. As an ocean nation, now is the time to be bold in our ambition, or we risk falling behind.
The time is NOW.
Led by Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, hundreds of stakeholders across Canada’s ocean community have come together to develop a shared platform called Ambition 2035. This platform will help chart the course to grow Canada’s ocean economy 5X to $220 billion by 2035. This platform is driven by six areas of growth that align with the most pressing ocean solutions needed globally, and where Canada can lead. Learn how we’re navigating to 5x growth by 2035 with our new platform document, Charting the Course: Growing Canada’s Ocean Economy 5X by 2035.
